Meet The Brown Joy Characters
The Brown Joy Characters consists of an amazing group of six dynamic characters that were created to honor, respect, and highlight the beauty and importance of positive images of black and brown characters.
Joy
Joy is a true thrill seeker who always looks for a new adventure. From trying new ways to jump higher in the sky to reaching the stars of outer space, Joy uses her incredible imagination to explore all over the world. Her favorite subject is math because she enjoys counting and adding. Because of her excitement for world travel, she can count her numbers in English, Haitian Creole, French, and Spanish. In Joy’s world, possibilities are endless!
JJ
JJ loves the flow and freedom of movement in all things he does, from dancing to his favorite songs to playing his favorite sports. Movement is his talent. Once JJ sets himself in motion, there is no stopping him! His favorite subject in school is robotics because he enjoys using his hands to build and create new ways for the robots to move.Â
Jeliyah
Jeliyah has always been interested in Technology. Sometimes she will be on more than one device at a time. She enjoys modeling and karate. Therefore, she will post selfies and pictures of her progress every time she earns a new belt in karate. She also loves puzzles and any challenge that will make her think. Her favorite subject is cybersecurity information technology because enjoys learning how to help protect herself and people in the cyber world.Â
Jaylin
Jaylin loves food! His favorite hobby is baking. He will create and try new recipes to make desserts. Jaylin has a kind heart and sells his desserts to raise money for the homeless. Jaylin’s favorite subject is history because he loves researching and understanding the past so he can do better for the future.Â
Jade
Jade is not afraid to speak up for herself and others and uses her words to defend and motivate others. She loves learning new words that she can add to her vocabulary. She enjoys participating in school Spelling Bees and reading as many books as she can. Her favorite subject is theater, and she enjoys improv the most! She creates her own skits and casts her family, friends, and pets in various roles.
Jordan
Jordan enjoys nature and animals. After snapping his first picture of one of his dogs, he knew photography was his favorite thing to do. He learned to design graphic art by creating mazes for his pet hamsters, cats, and dogs. He enjoys yoga because it helps him calm his mind for his art and photography. His favorite subject in school is leadership. He hopes to one day be the one that makes important decisions.
